NCAGE-producer/supplier codification code

NATO Commercial and Government Entity Code

For unique identification within the NATO Codification System, each manufacturer/supplier is assigned a Commercial and Government Entity Code or manufacturer/supplier codification code during the codification process: NCAGE – NATO Commercial and Government Entity Code. This code is recorded in the NATO H4 database of organizations and is permanently valid for all business cases and transactions of the organization.

NCAGE

is a five-digit alphanumeric code that is part of the product identification within the NATO Codification System. NCAGE characterizes the organization with identification data, which are the identification number, name, address, overview of the most important economic activities, contacts. NCAGE is permanently linked to the ID and remains valid throughout its existence regardless of possible changes to other identification data, such as name, address or contacts.

NCAGE can be assigned to a manufacturing or supplier organization or an institution providing services. The structure of the newly assigned code is different in the above cases:

manufacturer: xxxxG

supplier: xxxFG

institution providing services: xxSxG

x = digit

Request for NCAGE assignment

In the Czech Republic, NCAGE is assigned exclusively by the Codification Department, which performs the role of the National Codification Bureau of the Czech Republic, if the organization supplies a JSK user with a product that is the subject of codification or is the manufacturer of this product. NCAGE is also assigned based on the request of foreign national codification offices for organizations manufacturing or supplying products for their NCS users and, in special cases, also to domestic organizations applying for international grants. NCAGE assignment is implemented in the process of cataloguing a product included in the JSK.

Organizations requesting NCAGE allocation due to registration in an information system that requires this identifier from the organization, apply for allocation via the NSPA portal (https://eportal.nspa.nato.int/Codification/CageTool/home).

NCAGE allocation is free of charge. The CD will send the applicant a notification of NCAGE allocation by email within 10 working days.

If the identification data of the organization changes, the organization must fill out the form "Request for change (supplementation) of organization data" (downloadable in doc format — 34 kB) and send it to the CD.
