This is the main codification guideline. It contains a summary of binding principles, responsibilities, working procedures, data element definitions and methods of international data exchange. The publication is intended for codification offices of individual countries using the NATO Codification System (NCS).
ACodP-2 (H2)
The NATO Supply Group and Class Handbook ACodP-2 (The Allied Codification Publication No. 2) was created as a tool for the uniform classification of supply items within the NATO Codification System. It is based on the US Federal Classification Handbook 00-H2-1 (US Federal Classification Handbook). The publication establishes a Uniform System for the Classification of Military Equipment within all countries participating in the NATO Codification System.
The Column no. 6 (NATO Supply Class - NSC) data in the codification clause are provided in accordance with this manual.
ACodP-3 (H6)
The Catalog of item names for codification according to NATO ACodP-3 (The Allied Codification Publication No. 3) serves as an internationally agreed dictionary of approved item names required for the preparation of each item identification. ACodP-3 contains approved and basic names, along with definitions of items included and excluded from a given Item Name Code (INC). The database also contains colloquial names. The publication is based on the US Federal Item Name Directory for Supply Cataloguing 00-H6.
